Phil Weeks

Phil fuckin' Weeks comes to Budapest this weekend: Lava Lava guys made a big shot. Max Graef was the only one whom I waited more than Phil Weeks. So, better get ready for something special this Friday at Corvintető. Phil Weeks is a real talent in electronic music. He mixes the disco side of house music with the love of sampling from the hiphop culture (hail to the Akai MPC 3000). So here is this guy from France who makes music for dancefloors, pumping the beats in your vein and you can't deny you enjoy all the tunes you hear. Monsieur Weeks owns a record label called RobSoul. I don't want to write more superlatives about his works. Simple amazing. I embed some of their stuff from various sources (YouTube, Spotify, Soundcloud).

First of all here comes some beat sampling videos - for the advanced listeners:

If you are still here, you can have some easier stuff to enjoy:

Aaaand if these made you like Phil Weeks, go and listen his latest beats:

Last, if you prefer sets than separated tracks, I recommend this:

Follow Phil Weeks on Soundcloud, Facebook, Spotify, YouTube.

House mixtape of October

This post will be kind of a self-promotion. Promotion of the lame quality I can present you. Since I don't have a pro account on SoundCloud, I decided not to upload mixes there. So I got my Mixcloud account and I am about to upload some mixes there. It contains various mixes, you can find old school funk, funk-breaktrap/hiphopglitch hop and now I got a disco-style house mixtape too. Enjoy it:

For the same old shit: I know this is not perfect, but I enjoyed to select these tracks. I think this is the point if you are mixing in your bedroom, to feel fine. And if you guys like the result, I appreciate this because you add some serious values to them.
You can find almost all tracks for free download on SoundCloud - this is my thing, selecting free tracks. There are two tracks you can't find for free because I got them on vinyl. If you like it and you would grab a copy some of my mixtapes, just send an e-mail or message on Facebook and we'll find a solution. Click on that funky shit to check my Mixcloud account:

Wunderbar House aus Berlin - The Chosen Two - Traumaland EP & We Don't Kehr EP

So, today we have some tasty electronic music. Again. Good house music. Again (?)
The chosen one of today is The Chosen Two. Two guys from Berlin who started in 1999/2003, have a lot of releases and usually mixing at Golden Gate. Vilmos, remember? That was one the clubs we couldn't enter last November. Now this is another good reason for checking these guys. And their music is a better reason.
I made a playlist of their two EPs (Traumaland and We Don't Kehr) These tracks are not their latest releases, I chose these because they are out on vinyl too and also give a fine representation of their own label Powder & Louder. If you like them, you know what to do: SoundCloud, Facebook.
I really hope they are coming to Budapest in the near future.

Tracklist and comments:
  1. Born Inna Bassdrum - greatgreatGREAT! can I have a little more cowbell?
  2. We Don't Kehr - first track I heard from these guys. Wunderbar!
  3. Mean & Evil - It reminds me Laid Back's Bakerman (Soul Clap remix)!
  4. Weekend - more uptempo, one the uniquest track
  5. We Don't Kehr (Erik Christiansen Remix) - only for driving, not for party
  6. Traumaland - fine tech tune with some traditional Russian sounds
  7. Die Orgel (2013) - I like that blunt instrument as the lead.

Max Graef - Rivers of the Red Planet LP

Max Graef már volt a blogon, akkor egy maratoni Bolier Room délutánon vállalt egy órás szettet. Nemrégiben pedig megjelentette első saját LP-jét Rivers of the Red Planet néven.
